How to Unlock and Ride a Mount in Rune Slayer

by Patrick Sep 15,2025

Rune Slayer delivers a rich MMORPG experience within Roblox, featuring quests like "Kill 10 Enemies," crafting, dungeons, and fishing. A key element of any MMORPG is the mount, and Rune Slayer offers this feature. While acquiring a mount is straightforward, the game doesn’t explicitly guide you. Here’s how to get one.

Before you can explore Rune Slayer on a mount, you need to meet these requirements:

Reach Level 20 Own a Tamed Pet

These tasks are manageable. Reaching Level 20 takes about 5–6 hours, or less with friends. Complete quests, jobs, and defeat enemies to level up quickly.

To tame a pet, follow the in-game quest instructions, but here’s the gist:

Locate an animal you want to tame (e.g., Deer, Wolf, Spider). Strike it once. Hold a food item the animal prefers (e.g., Apples for Deer, Raw Deer Meat for Wolves). A heart appears above the animal’s head, indicating taming is in progress. If the heart fully grows, the animal collapses and becomes your pet. If the heart turns black, taming fails. Try again with another animal.

Once you’re Level 20 with a tamed pet, proceed to the next step.

Completing the Mount Quest

At Level 20, visit Jimmy the Stable Master in Wayshire to start a quest. He tasks you with delivering a package to the Stable Master in Ashenshire. Accept “Jimmy’s Delivery” and exit Wayshire through the northern gate. Follow the path over the hill into Greatwood Forest. Avoid lingering, as the enemies here can be challenging. Continue north until you reach Ashenshire, marked by large tree-top houses.

Locate a rope to climb and interact with it to ascend. At the top, find Madonna the Stable Master, the first NPC you see (no quest marker). Speak to her and select “I have a package for you.” She’ll accept the package. Return to Wayshire by retracing your steps south from Ashenshire.

Back in Wayshire, speak to Jimmy the Stable Master (marked by an exclamation point). He rewards you with a Saddle, which doesn’t appear in your inventory to prevent accidental loss.

Riding Your Pet in Rune Slayer

With the saddle, summon your pet by holding “T”. Approach your pet to see the “Mount” option. Press “E” to ride. This works for all mountable pets.

That’s it! Enjoy riding your pet across Rune Slayer at high speed. For more tips, see our Ultimate Beginner’s Guide to Rune Slayer or our fishing guide.
