In *Fields of Mistria*, expanding your farm is crucial for accommodating more crops and animals. The farm expansion feature, introduced in the game's v0.13.0 update, provides the solution you need. Here’s a detailed guide on how to unlock and build your farm expansion in *Fields of Mistria*.

The Farm Expansion allows you to significantly increase your farm's space by extending it across the river to the right, adding a new area where you can build more structures and plant additional crops. To unlock this feature, head over to the **Carpenter’s Shop** located in the Eastern Road area. You can purchase the Farm Expansion as early as your first year, but you'll need to meet certain progress requirements first.

To buy the Farm Expansion, you must help the town reach **Rank 55** by earning enough Renown points. Additionally, you need to complete the Stone Refinery repair quest to gather some of the necessary materials. Note that this quest also requires Town Rank 55 to unlock, so these milestones are closely linked.

Once you've met these initial requirements, focus on gathering all the required materials for the expansion. It's a significant investment, so be prepared for a bit of a grind.

Visit the Carpenter’s Shop on the Eastern Road, northeast of Mistria’s town center. From the shop’s main menu, select ‘Farm Expansion’ at the bottom to view the requirements for the expansion.

First, you'll need **40,000 Tesserae** to cover the monetary cost. Accumulating this amount will take time, so maximize your efforts in gathering resources, farming, and completing quests. Regularly visit the Mines, fish when possible, and turn in new items to the Museum to earn Tesserae.

Next, you'll need **50 x Refined Stone**. To obtain this, you must first repair the **Stone Refinery**, which you can only do after reaching Town Rank 55. Additionally, you'll need to repair the **Inn** before tackling the Stone Refinery.

Finally, gather **50 x Hard Wood**, which is relatively easier to acquire. Once you have a **Copper Axe**, chop the **large tree stumps** around your farm and beyond; each will yield 2 x Hard Wood. You can also obtain Hard Wood from **Balor’s Cart** on certain days or by turning in enough items to the Museum.

Once you've gathered all the required materials and money, return to the Carpenter’s Shop and purchase the expansion. This will extend your farm eastward across the river, complete with a new bridge for easy access.

That's all you need to know about building the farm expansion in *Fields of Mistria*. For more tips and tricks, be sure to check out our other guides, including how to craft Essence Stones.
