In the vast and vibrant world of *Monster Hunter Wilds*, players can engage in a variety of rewarding interactions, including the pursuit of the coveted Monster (Squid) Hunter trophy or achievement. This guide will walk you through the steps to unlock this unique accolade, starting with the engaging fishing questline.

How to Unlock the Monster (Squid) Hunter Trophy/Achievement in Monster Hunter Wilds

While fishing might not be central to your main progression in *Monster Hunter Wilds*, it offers a delightful diversion and a dedicated questline that leads to the equipment needed for this achievement. To begin, you'll need to dive into Kanya's fishing quests, which involve gathering specific items to complete the following side quests:

  • Seeking the Goldenfish: Head to the caves in the Scarlet Forest, specifically Area 6, to catch the Goldenfish. Use either the Golden Bughead or Common Wood Minnow baits. The Fallow weather state increases the likelihood of the fish spawning.
  • Fishing for Favor: Next, you'll need to catch the Gravid Bowfin at the Scarlet Forest base camp during the Plenty weather condition. Equip the Emerald Jitterbait and cast your line to secure this catch.
  • The Catch of a Lifetime!: Kanya will then challenge you to catch a Whopper, which can be any large fish that triggers the reeling minigame. The Tuna in the lake at Area 17 of the Scarlet Forest is a popular choice. Patience is key as you hook and reel in these big catches.

After completing these quests, Kanya will introduce the Razzle Dazzle quest, which is your gateway to the Monster (Squid) Hunter trophy or achievement. Here's how to proceed:

  • Travel to the Scarlet Forest, specifically Area 17, during the Downpour in Inclemency weather condition. You can wait at the grill or rest at your camp to change the weather.
  • Once the conditions are right, go to the lake and wade into the deep end until you can't go further. Look for squids swimming around. If none appear, fast travel to another location and return to see if they spawn.
  • Equip the Tentacle Jig provided by Kanya and start fishing. While the quest requires you to catch the Grand Escunite, your target for the trophy or achievement is the Goliath Squid. Look for squids with glowing blue shells.
  • If you hook a squid and the reeling minigame begins, you're on the right track. Keep fighting the creature and reel it in when it tires. Once it's close enough to the shore, you'll successfully pull it out, unlocking the Monster (Squid) Hunter trophy or achievement.

That's everything you need to know about unlocking the Monster (Squid) Hunter trophy or achievement in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. For more tips and guides, be sure to check out The Escapist.
