The excitement for the new GTA 6 trailer is palpable, and if you missed it, we've analyzed all the secrets and details for you. Unfortunately, fans will need to wait until May 26, 2026, to dive into Lucia and Jason's story. In the meantime, let's take a nostalgic trip through Rockstar's impressive catalog and rank their games for fun.
Since its inception in 1998, Rockstar Games has released over 30 titles, including iconic series like Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, and Manhunt. For this ranking, we'll focus strictly on games developed by Rockstar, excluding titles like LA Noire or Max Payne 2 which they published. I've created an IGN Tier List based on my personal enjoyment of these games over the years. Check out my tier list below:
Red Dead Redemption 2 is hands down my favorite game of all time, making it an obvious S-tier choice. It's joined by its predecessor and GTA 5, both trailblazers in the cinematic open-world genre. I also have a soft spot for Max Payne 3 with its exhilarating bullet time mechanics, and GTA San Andreas, which I played at a shockingly young age. At the bottom of the list in the D-tier, you'll find games like Austin Powers: Oh, Behave! and Welcome to My Underground Lair!, which are, frankly, not worth revisiting.
Disagree with my rankings? Do you believe Vice City outshines GTA 4? Create your own tier list and see how your S, A, B, C, and D rankings compare with the IGN community.
