Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 5 star Ned Luke assures fans that GTA 6 is worth the anticipation, predicting massive first-day sales. Discover his insights and predictions regarding GTA 6's development and potential success.
Rockstar Games' Unconventional Approach to GTA 6
GTA 5 Actor Predicts $1.3 Billion in GTA 6 First-Day Revenue
Ned Luke, the voice behind Michael De Santa in GTA 5, boldly predicts $1.3 billion in first-day sales for GTA 6. In a recent interview with Fall Damage on YouTube, Luke expressed his excitement, highlighting Rockstar Games' knack for the unexpected.
He urged fans to "be patient," assuring them that the wait will be worthwhile. Recalling GTA 5's impressive $800 million first-day revenue in 2013, Luke confidently anticipates that GTA 6 will surpass even those record-breaking figures. Market research firm DFC Intelligence supports this optimism, projecting over 40 million copies sold and $3.2 billion in revenue during the first year, with $1 billion attributed solely to pre-orders.
The Return of GTA 5 Characters in GTA 6?
Luke also offered insights on the possibility of GTA 5 characters appearing in GTA Online and potentially GTA 6. He noted Michael's absence from GTA Online since its launch, contrasting with the appearances of Trevor and Franklin.
Luke hinted at Michael's potential inclusion in a future GTA Online DLC or even a role in GTA 6. While Steven Ogg (Trevor in GTA 5) previously suggested Trevor's death as a symbolic passing of the torch (ScreenRant, January 2025), Luke remained coy: "Maybe [Michael, Franklin, and Trevor will be] in GTA 6, like [its online mode]. Maybe. Maybe not." The actors' enthusiasm is palpable, but official confirmation remains elusive.
GTA 6: Entering the Testing Phase?
Former Rockstar Games animator Mike York suggests GTA 6 is likely undergoing internal testing. In a since-deleted interview with YouTuber Kiwi Talkz (via GamesRadar), York described the game's unique unpredictability, emphasizing the need for extensive testing to account for unforeseen player interactions.
York believes GTA 6 is currently in the in-house testing phase, with final touches and additions being implemented. He suggests the game is playable and that numerous internal testers have likely completed playthroughs.
Rockstar Games unveiled GTA 6 with a trailer in December 2023, but further details remain scarce. While a Fall 2025 release was previously speculated (based on Take-Two Interactive's 2024 financial report), no official release date has been confirmed.
