Google Play Auto-Launches Apps for Convenience

Ever download an app and then forget all about it? Google Play Store might have the answer. A new feature in development will reportedly auto-launch newly installed apps.

The Details

Android Authority reports Google Play is developing a feature to streamline app installation. This potential addition would automatically open apps immediately after download completion. No more hunting for icons or wondering about download status – the app will launch directly.

This is based on an APK teardown of Play Store version 41.4.19; it's not official yet, and a release date is unconfirmed. If released, it'll be called "App Auto Open" and will be entirely optional, allowing users to enable or disable the auto-launch functionality as desired.

How It Works (Reportedly)

Upon download completion, a notification banner will appear at the screen top for approximately 5 seconds, potentially accompanied by a sound or vibration (depending on device settings). This ensures visibility even during other activities.

Important Note: This information is unofficial; no firm release date exists. We'll update you with any official announcements from Google.
