Path of Exile 2: Uncovering the Hidden Golden Idols

Path of Exile 2 boasts a wealth of quests, some less obvious than others. This guide focuses on the five Golden Idols hidden throughout Act 3, which, despite being labeled "Quest Items," function differently than typical quest items. They don't appear in your quest log and aren't traded with NPCs to advance a specific questline. Instead, these idols are valuable sellable items.

Locating the Golden Idols

After exploring the Vaal ruins beneath the Ziggurat Encampment in Act 3 and traveling through a time portal, you'll find yourself in Utzaal (The Drowned City in the present). This ancient Vaal city holds three of the idols, with the remaining two located in the connected area, Aggorat. These idols aren't random enemy drops; they're found on the ground or pedestals, often in side rooms.

Utzaal Golden Idols:

  • Glorious Idol
  • Golden Idol
  • Grand Idol

Aggorat Golden Idols:

  • Exceptional Idol
  • Elegant Idol

Cashing In Your Idols

Once collected, return to the Ziggurat Encampment and seek out Oswald, located in the northern part of the area. He's the only vendor who will purchase these unique items. The gold payout for each idol is as follows:

  • Golden Idol: 500 Gold
  • Grand Idol: 1000 Gold
  • Glorious Idol: 1500 Gold
  • Elegant Idol: 1000 Gold
  • Exceptional Idol: 1500 Gold

Collecting all five idols yields a substantial 6000 Gold reward. Given their limited inventory space and lack of further use, it's recommended to sell them immediately after discovery to maximize your gold and free up inventory space.
