Recent online speculation suggested a major God of War announcement at an upcoming 20th-anniversary event, including claims of classic game remasters from sources like journalist Jeff Grubb. To manage expectations, Santa Monica Studio directly addressed these rumors:

"Pantheons collide! We’re thrilled to present a lineup of Greek and Norse characters for this panel celebrating the 20th anniversary of God of War where we’ll reflect on the past two decades of the series. Given the star-studded lineup and the anticipation surrounding this milestone, we want to make it clear that no announcements are planned for this event." —Santa Monica Studio
The March 22nd event will instead showcase new artwork featuring Kratos and Jörmungandr, and feature appearances from series actors including Terrence Carson (voice of Kratos) and Carole Ruggier (voice of Athena).
