Sony and Santa Monica Studio have unveiled the Dark Odyssey collection, a free God of War Ragnarök update arriving next week. This update features in-game equipment themed after one of the franchise's most iconic outfits—a sleek, black-and-gold aesthetic that will dramatically enhance Kratos, Atreus, and Freya's appearances.
The update, detailed in a PlayStation Blog post, is a major highlight of Sony's God of War 20th-anniversary celebrations. Available for both PlayStation 5 and PC players on March 20th, Dark Odyssey includes cosmetic sets for Kratos, Atreus, and Freya, along with matching appearances and attachments for various weapons and shields. A particular standout is Kratos' new appearance and armor set, reminiscent of a skin previously only obtainable by completing God of War II on God Mode. Players can acquire these items from any Lost Items chest in the main game or immediately within Ragnarök's Valhalla mode. The update also introduces the highly anticipated ability to customize Kratos' weapon appearances without affecting their stats.
