People Can Fly, the studio behind Bulletstorm and co-developer of Gears of War: E-Day, has inked a deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment to create a new game, codenamed Project Delta. Details are scarce, as the agreement described by People Can Fly designates Project Delta as a work-for-hire title, offering no further specifics on the project itself.
This latest collaboration adds to People Can Fly's already extensive portfolio. The studio is currently juggling multiple projects, each bearing a similarly cryptic codename. These include Project Gemini (a partnership with Square Enix, which unfortunately saw 30 layoffs last year), Project Echo with Krafton, Project Red (also seemingly with Sony), and the recently announced VR Project Bison—their final foray into virtual reality.
Adding to the complexity, last December, People Can Fly announced the suspension of Project Victoria and a scaling down of Project Bifrost. This followed the April cancellation of Project Dagger, an action-adventure title planned in partnership with Take-Two Interactive.
Despite these shifts, People Can Fly remains busy, with eight known projects currently underway, including the upcoming Gears of War: E-Day developed in collaboration with The Coalition. While a release date for Gears of War: E-Day remains unannounced, Project Gemini, the Square Enix partnership, was last slated for a 2026 release.
