Freedom Wars Remastered: Crafting Powerful Weapons Guide

Freedom Wars Remastered plunges players into a gripping dystopian future where they, as Sinners, battle monstrous Abductors to safeguard humanity. A key to surviving and thriving in this intense environment is enhancing your combat prowess through weapon and accessory upgrades. These upgrades not only boost base stats but also allow the addition of modules for further enhancements.

Players can start upgrading their weapons early in the game, eliminating the need to depend solely on mission rewards or enemy drops. This guide provides detailed steps on how to upgrade both weapons and accessories in Freedom Wars Remastered.

How To Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered

To begin upgrading your weapons in Freedom Wars Remastered, you'll need to advance in the main storyline until you achieve Level 002 Code Clearance. Once you're a CODE 2 Sinner, you'll unlock the Facility Management Function through the Personal Responsibility Portal. This leads you to the Weapon Development Facility, where you can manage and upgrade all your weapons.

Upgrading requires specific resources and your hard-earned Entitlement Points. You can reduce these costs by enlisting the help of a Citizen. Various Citizens are available, each with a different Facility Manager Aptitude that affects the reduction rate. While it might seem complex at first, the system becomes intuitive with practice.

Before finalizing an upgrade, you'll be shown a preview of the changes to your weapon's stats. The Weapon Development Facility also enables you to add Elements and experiment with Modules and Module Slots. To elevate a weapon to a higher Grade, you must purchase the necessary permit from the Claim Entitlement tab on the Window of Liberty.

Should You Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered?

In the early stages of the main story, missions typically don't yield high-Grade weapons as rewards. Although you can buy weapons and combat items from Zakka in The Warren, most are capped at Grade Level 1, making upgrades nearly indispensable. One of your CODE 3 Exams requires obtaining higher Grade Development Facility Permits, which allow you to upgrade any weapon to your preference and retain it, while donating lower-Grade weapons found during missions to reduce your sentence and earn additional Entitlement Points.

The first upgrade in the Weapon Development Facility also unlocks the "In Search of the Strongest Weapon" trophy/achievement, with further achievements linked to the upgrading system, making it particularly attractive for trophy hunters. The substantial damage difference between weapons of different Grades underscores the importance of dedicating time to gear improvement.

Additionally, later in the game, players can access the Ability Development Facility within Facility Management, further enhancing their gameplay experience.
