Mastering the Flare Knife in Freedom Wars Remastered

Freedom Wars Remastered throws players into intense battles against formidable Abductors. Utilizing every tool is crucial for survival, and the Flare Knife proves invaluable in severing Abductor parts. This guide details how to acquire and effectively use this combat item.

Obtaining the Flare Knife

The Flare Knife is surprisingly accessible early in the game. After achieving Level 003 Code Clearance, visit Zakka in The Warren. Zakka's inventory includes the Flare Knife, purchasable for 3,000 Entitlement Points. Equip it via the Loadout menu in the Personal Responsibility Portal, selecting an available Combat Item slot.

Utilizing the Flare Knife

The Flare Knife is a single-use item specifically designed for severing Abductor limbs. This offers an alternative for players favoring Polearms or Heavy Melee weapons, eliminating the need for Light Melee weapons solely for severing. However, remember to repurchase it before each Operation.

To use it, lock onto a severable Abductor part. Use your Thorn to grapple onto the target area. With the Flare Knife equipped, a severing option will appear. A quick-time event (QTE) will initiate, requiring rapid button presses to complete the severing. Success depends on depleting the QTE bar before the Abductor interrupts, potentially by leaping or crashing. Cooperative online play simplifies severing through repeated Abductor snares.
