Secure a Free Bow Early in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Early-game combat in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 can be challenging, leaving Henry ill-equipped. Fortunately, acquiring the Dogwood Village Bow early and without cost is entirely possible. This guide outlines how to obtain this valuable ranged weapon.
After parting ways with Hans, your path to the wedding involves either working for a blacksmith or miller. Regardless of your chosen profession, the blacksmith's location on your map conveniently leads you to the bow. While the blacksmith job offers access to Semine's wedding and eventually, the hermit's sword, the bow is obtainable beforehand.
The blacksmith's workshop is situated in Tachov, north of Troskowitz, where the prologue concludes. West of Troskowitz, follow the road north. At the fork where a smaller road branches west, turn right towards a cluster of trees. This seemingly unremarkable area hides a small training ground.
Within the trees, you'll find a target with arrows. Collect these for ammunition. To the right of the target, leaning against a tree trunk, rests the Dogwood Village Bow. Additional resources, such as brew and mushrooms, are also available in this location.
Alternative Acquisition Methods
While purchasable from Huntsman's Son Vitek in Tachov, buying the Dogwood Village Bow is less economical than acquiring it for free, especially considering its relatively low power compared to other weapons Vitek offers. Alchemy, however, provides a viable alternative income stream for purchasing superior weapons.
Regardless of your chosen method, having a ranged weapon significantly enhances combat, particularly beneficial for players who prefer ranged combat over melee.
After obtaining the bow, you can continue the blacksmith questline (saving after forging a sword), or proceed with the miller's quest. Either way, you'll be better prepared for the challenges ahead.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
