Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: PC Specs Revealed

Square Enix has recently updated the PC specifications for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, setting the bar high for gamers looking to experience the game in stunning 4K resolution. To achieve this, players are recommended to use high-end graphics cards equipped with 12GB to 16GB of VRAM. This update comes just two weeks before the much-anticipated PC launch, following its initial release on the PS5 nearly a year ago.

In addition to the VRAM requirements, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on PC will leverage advanced technologies such as Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) upscaling, ShaderModel 6.6 support, and DirectX 12 Ultimate. These features are designed to enhance the visual and performance aspects of the game, ensuring a smooth and immersive experience for players.

The game's PC specifications have been detailed across three presets: minimum, recommended, and ultra. For those aiming to play at minimum settings, a setup capable of delivering 30 FPS at 1080p with "Low" graphics quality is required. This includes a 64-bit version of Windows 10, an AMD Ryzen 5 1400 or Intel Core i3-8100 CPU, and a GPU like the AMD Radeon RX 6600, Intel Arc A580, or Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060. Players will also need 16GB of RAM and 155GB of SSD storage.

Moving to the recommended settings, which target 60 FPS at 1080p with "Medium" graphics quality, the requirements step up to a Windows 11 64-bit OS, a more powerful CPU such as the AMD Ryzen 5 5600 or Intel Core i7-8700, and a GPU like the AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT or Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070. The memory and storage requirements remain the same at 16GB of RAM and 155GB of SSD space.

For the ultimate experience at 60 FPS in 4K resolution with "High" graphics quality, players will need a Windows 11 64-bit OS, a high-end CPU like the AMD Ryzen 7 5700X or Intel Core i7-10700, and a top-tier GPU such as the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX or Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080. Again, 16GB of RAM and 155GB of SSD storage are necessary.

It's worth noting that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth also received a PS5 Pro enhancement patch in November, which optimized the game for Sony's upgraded console. However, unlike Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Rebirth will not feature any DLC content. Square Enix has shifted its focus to the development of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3, and fans are encouraged to stay tuned for future updates.

Game director Naoki Hamaguchi has expressed enthusiasm about the PC version, highlighting the exclusive upgrades in lighting, shaders, and textures that players can look forward to. While it's unclear if these enhancements will eventually make their way to the PS5 version, the PC port promises a visually superior experience.

Although Square Enix had previously mentioned optimizing Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth for the Steam Deck, no recent updates have been provided on this front. With the PC release scheduled for January 23, fans won't have to wait much longer to dive into the world of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth with these enhanced specifications.
