A charming new game, Cato: Buttered Cat, is poised for an Android release. The name itself is a playful combination of "cat" and "toast," perfectly reflecting the game's quirky premise. Ever wondered what happens when you attach buttered toast to a cat's back? The developers at Team Woll did, and the result is a perpetually spinning feline in a delightful anti-gravity loop!
Initially conceived as an entry for the 2022 BOOOM Gamejam, Cato: Buttered Cat garnered such positive feedback that it evolved into a full-fledged game. Currently available on Steam for PC, an Android release is imminent. While the Google Play Store listing isn't yet live, you can pre-register via the official TapTap page.
Gameplay:
Cato: Buttered Cat is a puzzle platformer where you control both a cat and a slice of buttered toast. Their combined abilities are key to solving puzzles, overcoming enemies, and exploring whimsical worlds.
The game boasts:
- Five unique worlds teeming with quirky contraptions.
- Over 200 levels, including engaging side quests.
- A captivating storyline revealed piecemeal throughout the levels.
- 30 distinct outfits to customize your feline companion.
The dynamic interaction between the cat and toast is a highlight. The agile cat climbs and runs, while the toast functions as a controllable projectile, enabling the cat to reach otherwise inaccessible areas.
The game also features hidden rooms and numerous Easter eggs. Check out the trailer below for a sneak peek!
I eagerly await the Android launch! In the meantime, stay tuned for our coverage of Operation Lucent Arrowhead, the Arknights x Rainbow Six Siege crossover.
