Efficiently Farming Sharp Fangs in Monster Hunter Wilds
Sharp Fangs are a valuable crafting material in Monster Hunter Wilds, useful for early-game gear like the Chatacabra and Talioth armor sets. This guide details how to locate and farm them effectively.
Early access to Sharp Fangs is available by exploring the Windward Plains, accessible through optional quests like "Beware the Chatacabra" or "The Desert is Demanding." These quests offer a generous 50-minute time limit. Remember to eat a meal beforehand for buffs!
Focus your efforts on Area 8 of the Windward Plains, the largest area, teeming with smaller monsters. While several creatures have a chance to drop Sharp Fangs, the Gaijos are your primary target.
Targeting Gaijos for Guaranteed Drops
Gaijos, crocodile-like leviathans, are found near or in riverbeds. Their location is easily identified on the map by scanning for purple diamonds near water sources. They are relatively weak, making them easy targets even with starting weapons. Each Gaijo carcass guarantees a single Sharp Fang upon carving.
With several Gaijos typically spawning in Area 8, repeatedly completing Windward Plains optional quests provides a reliable farming method.
Talioth: An Additional, Though Less Reliable, Source
Talioth, bipedal creatures found in packs in Area 8 (and sometimes Area 13), also have a chance to drop Sharp Fangs. While not guaranteed, hunting them offers a secondary farming option, conveniently allowing progress on the "The Desert is Demanding" quest (requiring 8 Talioth kills).
This comprehensive guide should significantly improve your Sharp Fang acquisition rate in Monster Hunter Wilds. For more helpful guides, check out our other Monster Hunter Wilds content, including our Great Sword guide.
