Escape Academy, a critically acclaimed escape-room style puzzle game, is the Epic Games Store's free game offering for January 16th, 2025. This marks the fourth free game offered by the EGS in 2025 and, boasting an impressive 80 average score and 88% recommendation rate on OpenCritic, is currently their highest-rated free offering of the year.

Available for claim from January 16th to 23rd, Escape Academy challenges players to hone their escape room skills as students at the titular academy, training to become "escape room masters." Developed by Coin Crew Games, the game originally launched in July 2022 for PC and consoles.

This isn't Escape Academy's first appearance as an EGS freebie; it was previously offered on January 1st, 2024. However, this time around, players will have a full week to claim the game, making it a particularly attractive offer for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, as the game is set to leave the service on January 15th.
