Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC's Blessing of Marika: A Mimic Tear Game Changer
Many Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC players overlook a game-changing mechanic: the Mimic Tear's ability to utilize the Blessing of Marika. Since the DLC's release, the item's utility has been debated, with many players mistakenly consuming it, believing it to be a single-use item.
The Shadow of the Erdtree DLC has received mixed Steam reviews, with criticisms focusing on loot quality, underwhelming open-world sections, and overall difficulty. For struggling players, the Blessing of Marika offers a significant advantage.
Twitch streamer ZiggyPrincess highlighted the Blessing's unexpected utility. Unlike the Mimic Tear's previous self-healing method (Raw Meat Dumplings, restoring only 50% HP), the Blessing provides full HP restoration.
Utilizing the Blessing with the Mimic Tear:
To enable this, equip the Blessing of Marika in your Quick Items slot (where flasks, Spectral Seeds, and Spirit Summons are equipped). Summoning the Mimic Tear will automatically trigger its use as needed. Crucially, the Mimic Tear has unlimited access to the Blessing, unlike the player.
The Blessing's early appearance in the Gravesite Plains has caused confusion. Its flask-like appearance leads many to consume it before understanding its true function. Fortunately, multiple Blessings can be obtained, either by defeating a Tree Sentinel or at the Fort of Reprimand, allowing for recovery from accidental consumption.
