At the 3rd day of Anime Expo in Los Angeles, RGG Studio hosted "Essence of Fandom: Like a Dragon & Yakuza Experience," featuring Like a Dragon Chief Producer Hiroyuki Sakamoto, Ichiban Kasuga's voice actor Kazuhiro Nakaya, and host Linda “VampyBitMe” Le.
During the event, attendees were treated to a cryptic teaser regarding the studio's upcoming game. According to @TheYakuzaGuy on Twitter, representatives hinted, "We can’t tell you what kind of game it is, but I will tell you, you’ll be surprised." The tweet further confirmed this will be a new addition to the Like a Dragon series.
Given the series' already surprising shift from beat 'em up to JRPG with Like a Dragon 7, the possibilities are endless. Speculation ranges from a rhythm game based on the popular karaoke mini-game, a spin-off featuring other series characters, or even a remake or sequel to past spin-offs like Yakuza: Dead Souls or the Japan-exclusive Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan.
