Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero Confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2

by Charlotte Dec 01,2025

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero has received a rating for the Nintendo Switch 2, even though there has been no official announcement confirming the fighting game's release on the new console.

While we still lack official confirmation that this game, based on Akira Toriyama's beloved anime and manga series, is coming to the Switch 2, a recently deleted tweet from the Saudi General Authority of Media Regulation—spotted by the Gaming Leaks and Rumors subreddit—suggests otherwise.

"Experience the thrilling combat in the latest title, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. Available on Nintendo Switch 2, the game offers dynamic 3D battles and branching storylines shaped by your decisions," read the tweet before it was removed, confirming the game had received a 12+ rating.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero elevates the iconic gameplay of the Budokai Tenkaichi series to unprecedented heights, featuring a vast roster of playable characters, each with unique abilities, transformations, and signature techniques.

In our IGN Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero review, we awarded the game a 7/10, stating: "Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero delivers a nostalgic blast from the past, sometimes almost too faithfully, yet the joy of revisiting a simpler era when games didn't need competitive balance to be fun remains a welcome experience."

Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders began on April 24, with the price still set at $449.99—and they sold out as quickly as anticipated. That same day, Nintendo issued a notice to U.S. customers who pre-ordered the Switch 2 from the My Nintendo Store, cautioning that release date delivery could not be guaranteed due to overwhelming demand.
