Mastering the Lady Vengeance: A Divinity: Original Sin 2 Guide to Setting Sail
Having escaped Fort Joy and removed your Source collar, your journey continues aboard the Elven ship, Lady Vengeance. Getting this ship underway isn't a simple matter of turning a wheel; it requires solving a unique puzzle. This guide will walk you through the steps to get the Lady Vengeance sailing.
Investigating the Ship's Deck
Your investigation begins on deck. Examine the bodies of the fallen magisters and gheists. Loot them for clues and valuables. A crucial find is the Sodden Diary, containing the password to a crucial stateroom door. You can also potentially acquire the password through a skill check with the northern stateroom door. Beyond the password, you'll need a Strange Gem to interact with the door. Note that a magic mirror nearby allows for unlimited respeccing of your character and companions – useful for skill checks.
Accessing the Portside Stateroom
With the password and Strange Gem, head to the ship's quarters. Interact with the unconscious Bishop Alexander to find the Strange Gem if you haven't already. Use the gem and the password ("Fortitude") on the southern stateroom door to gain access to Magister Dallis' cabin. This stateroom also contains a hidden hatch with two dangerous gheists and a Teleportation Prism.
Finding the Ancient Empire Songbook
Inside Magister Dallis' cabin, speak with Tarquin and exhaust Dallis' dialogue options. Locate the Ancient Empire Songbook on the pedestal. Reading it reveals the song needed to move the ship. It's advisable to speak to all NPCs before setting sail, as interactions will be unavailable once the ship departs.
Setting Sail: The Final Steps
Return to the deck and inform Malady of your discovery. She'll ask you to sing the song. Find the dragon figurine on the western side of the deck and choose the option to sing. Lady Vengeance will respond, and your journey can continue. Be prepared for a challenging battle with powerful magisters immediately after setting sail. Ensure your party is well-equipped and has sufficient companions.
