Digimon Alysion: The New Mobile Trading Card Game

As revealed during the DIGIMON CON 2025 livestream, Digimon Alysion is currently in development and follows the structure of popular mobile TCGs. Players will collect cards featuring various Digimon and characters from the series, build custom decks, and battle against other players online. One of the standout features teased in the announcement trailer is the inclusion of an in-depth story mode, offering a fresh way to experience the game beyond standard PvP matches.

The newly released trailer also introduced several new characters such as Kanata Hondo, Futre, and Valner Dragnogh, along with a new Digimon named Gemmon—hinting at a rich narrative experience that could appeal to both casual and dedicated fans.

While no official release date has been set for Digimon Alysion, Bandai Namco mentioned plans for a closed beta test in the near future, with more details expected to be shared later.

In addition to Digimon Alysion, DIGIMON CON 2025 offered deeper insight into Digimon Story: Time Stranger. During the presentation, producer Ryosuke Hara provided updates on the game’s storyline, character roster, and core mechanics.

Players can expect to start their journey by choosing one of three iconic Digimon partners—Patamon, Gomamon, and DemiDevimon—all of whom are fan-favorites from the original Digimon Adventure anime. These choices were hinted at earlier through promotional artwork, confirming long-held player speculation.

Hara also confirmed that Time Stranger will feature over 450 Digimon, making it the largest roster in the series’ history. Notable appearances include Angewomon, Gallantmon, and Agumon, who made a strong showing in the latest gameplay trailer.

In terms of story, players will have the option to play as either Dan Yuki or Kanan Yuki—two secret agents working for ADAMAS, an organization dedicated to investigating threats affecting both humans and Digimon. Alongside them is Inori Misono, the game's main heroine, and her partner Digimon Aegiomon, who join the protagonists on their journey.

As the title suggests, time travel plays a central role in the game’s narrative, with the protagonist being sent across different eras throughout the adventure.

With so much in store for the franchise, Digimon fans have plenty to look forward to in 2025 and beyond. Digimon Story: Time Stranger is set to launch later this year for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
