How To Find and Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Essence Stones are a brand-new addition to Fields of Mistria, introduced with the March 2025 update. These stones are essential for several new features, making them a vital resource for your daily farm tasks. This guide covers how to find, craft, and utilize Essence Stones of various sizes.

Where to Find Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Since the March 2025 update, Essence Stones can be discovered within chests located throughout the mines in Fields of Mistria. While I initially found one while searching for offering items to break the Fire Seal on Floor 60, these chests can appear on any level across existing biomes and floors. Keep an eye out for mimic enemies, though—they disguise themselves as chests but will attack if interacted with.

You'll find Essence Stones in four sizes: tiny, small, medium, and large. Smaller stones are more common, but larger ones can be found with some exploration. If your luck isn't cooperating, you can always craft them after constructing the Stone Refinery within the mines.

How to Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The Stone Refinery in Fields of Mistria is your crafting hub for Essence Stones. This location is part of a new questline added in the March 2025 update; you'll need to build the refinery yourself within the mines. After completing the prerequisite quests, Adeline will enlist your help alongside Olric and Errol.

To construct the Stone Refinery, you'll need:

• 200 Wood
• 400 Stone
• 5,000 Tesserae

Once built, you can craft Essence Stones of varying sizes. Each requires Stone and Essence, but the quantities vary depending on the size. See the table below:

Beyond Essence Stones, the Stone Refinery also produces various common materials, Refined Stone, and rare items like Obsidian and Diamond, making it a valuable crafting center for numerous projects in Mistria.

How to Use Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The March 2025 update introduced the long-awaited auto-petter and sprinkler mechanics. Both utilize Essence Stones, with larger stones providing longer durations. Naturally, Large Essence Stones offer the longest-lasting charge.

The auto-petter, linked to the Animal Sprite Statue, automatically pets animals in Large Barns and Coops when an Essence Stone is inserted. This rare statue is found in a hidden cave near Errol's house in the Narrows (use the Dragon's Breath spell to access it). Additional statues can be crafted once unlocked.

The sprinkler mechanic, using the Water Sprite Statue, automatically waters crops within a 2-tile radius when powered by an Essence Stone. This statue, along with its crafting scroll, is located on a small island east of the beach, beyond the Lighthouse (use Dragon's Breath to enter the hidden area). Multiple statues can be crafted to cover your entire farm.

Expect Essence Stones to become even more valuable in future Fields of Mistria updates from NPC Studio.
