How to Complete For Whom the Bell Tolls in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

by Nora May 14,2025

Main quests can indeed be stressful, especially when you're sneaking through unfamiliar areas under a tight deadline. Here's a comprehensive guide on how to successfully complete the "For Whom the Bell Tolls" quest in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 - For Whom the Bell Tolls Walkthrough

The "For Whom the Bell Tolls" quest follows directly after completing "Wedding Crashers." In this quest, Hans faces execution in Trosky after the bell tolls 12 times. Fortunately, Henry is assigned to labor around the castle instead of staying imprisoned, providing him a chance to save Hans.

Hauling Sacks

Start by hauling sacks to a shed, which is a mandatory task. Pick up the sacks from the wagon and transport them to the shed next to the fenced area. Drop them inside and continue until you've completed the objective.

Help the Blacksmith

Next, you're tasked to assist the blacksmith, who reluctantly asks you to craft a horseshoe. Head to the forge area through the archway opposite the blacksmith. Gather the necessary materials and craft the horseshoe. Once done, return it to the blacksmith and then proceed to the stables along the path you used for hauling sacks to deliver it.

Help Fanka the Cook

After delivering the horseshoe, it's time to help Hans. Return to the forge and retrieve the lockpick from the red pot on the shelves. Then, engage with Fanka, the cook near the forge. By offering your help, you gain access to the noble's kitchen. Follow Fanka to the kitchen; while you don't need to lockpick it, doing so can boost your reputation and secure future access to food supplies.

Speak with the Chamberlain

Upon entering the kitchen, you'll notice the chamberlain suffering. Converse with him and attempt to persuade him to let you brew a Digestive Potion. Success grants you entry to the surgeon's workshop; otherwise, you'll need to sneak in.

Make Fever Tonicum

If you didn't convince the chamberlain, gather food from the kitchen to distract the guard at the non-nobles' kitchen entrance. Climb the stairs across from the forge to reach this area. If you did convince him, head directly to the surgeon's workshop, located behind the right door in the hallway after ascending multiple flights of stairs. Inside, you'll find enough ingredients to craft both the Fever Tonicum and the Digestive Potion.

Cure Thomas

If you're assisting the chamberlain, return with the Digestive Potion to gain access to Thomas' room. If sneaking, take an alternative route via the noble's kitchen stairs to avoid guards. As you ascend, stay crouched and be ready to distract a guard with a pebble near Thomas' staircase. Sneak past him and reach Thomas' room, where his sister Adele is caring for him. Give Adele the Fever Tonicum, triggering the final cutscene of the quest.

Completing "For Whom the Bell Tolls" in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* before the 12 bells toll will boost your reputation. Even if you're late, the outcome remains the same. This guide should help you navigate the quest successfully and save Hans in time.
