Clean Crime Scenes Under the Influence: Serial Cleaner's Mustachioed Madness

by Hannah Jan 24,2025

Serial Cleaner, the quirky crime-scene cleanup puzzler, is making a comeback! Originally released in 2019, this title is returning to mobile platforms. Will it be a refined re-release or simply a modernized port? Only time will tell.

The game throws you into the gritty, yet comical, 1970s. Think urban decay, stylish gangs, and maybe a few cinematic exaggerations (killer sharks, anyone?). You play as Bob Leaner, a professional crime-scene cleaner tasked with the messy job of disposing of bodies, cleaning up blood, and erasing all traces of mob violence—all while dodging the police.

Remember our 2019 review? The consensus was that Serial Cleaner showed promise but felt somewhat unfinished. Developer Plug-In Digital is now taking on publishing duties for this mobile revival.

A Funky Return?

Pre-registration is open, with a February 11th, 2025 release date. While the extent of the improvements remains unclear, a polished re-release would be a welcome change from the original's mixed reception. However, given the time elapsed, significant enhancements might be optimistic.

The core concept remains captivating, but a simple mobile re-release dampens some of the excitement. Nevertheless, for Android users who missed out or those experiencing compatibility issues with older iOS versions, this could be a pleasant surprise.
