The 'I Caught a Shooting Star!' hidden trophy/achievement stands out for its simplicity yet elusiveness. Unaware players might miss it entirely, but here’s how you can secure it. The key is to capture a unique endemic life form known as the **Sandstar** in the **Windward Plains**. This creature, resembling a small desert mouse with a long tail and shimmering fur, is only visible at night in a specific area of the region.

Since the Windward Plains are typically explored during the day through the story, you'll need to manipulate time to reach nightfall. You have two options:

  • Fast Travel: Available early in the game after unlocking fast travel points in the Windward Plains. Use the interactive map to fast travel between points, advancing time until nightfall.

  • Rest: Unlocked after completing Chapter 3 and accessing high-rank content. Use your Guild Points at a base or pop-up camp to rest and choose the time of day (Morning, Daytime, Evening, or Nighttime) along with environmental conditions (No Change, Fallow, Plenty, or Inclemency).

The Sandstar is not only tiny but also incredibly fast, making it a challenging catch even at full speed on your Seikret. To improve your chances, gather **Screamer Pods** from **Baunos**, small red-bodied winged monsters found in groups around **Area 11** and **Area 13** of the Windward Plains. These creatures are scavengers, so you can hunt a few to obtain the pods.

Once night falls in the Windward Plains, head to the midpoint between Area 11 and Area 13, keeping a keen eye out for the Sandstar. Upon spotting it, chase it at full speed and, if you have them, use your Screamer Pods to stun it. Quickly switch to your **Capture Net** (also used for fishing) and throw it at the stunned Sandstar to capture it. Successfully doing so will unlock the 'I Caught a Shooting Star!' trophy/achievement and reward you with the **Ribbon Dream: Amber** nameplate for your Hunter Profile.

This completes the guide on how to unlock the 'I Caught a Shooting Star' trophy/achievement in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. Be sure to explore our other guides for the game, including tips on how to skip cutscenes.
