Catagrams: A Purrfect Word Puzzle Game for Cat Lovers and Puzzle Enthusiasts
Developed by Ponderosa Games, an indie studio founded by two former corporate employees, Catagrams is a charming, cat-themed word game that blends the strategic challenge of Scrabble with the cozy atmosphere of a cat café and the visual appeal of an art book.
Hand-Drawn Charm and Customizable Gameplay
Catagrams features beautiful, hand-drawn illustrations. The core gameplay involves connecting letter threads to form words, unlocking new, unique, and adorable cats with distinct personalities and hobbies for each completed puzzle. Players can customize the word length and difficulty, choosing short puzzles for quick brain teasers or tackling the daily challenge for ongoing engagement. Beyond word length and difficulty, players can also customize their feline companions with adorable accessories.
Game Center Integration and Charitable Contributions
The game integrates with Game Center, allowing players to track achievements and compete with friends. While the base game is free on the Google Play Store, an optional "endless mode" and a $9.99 "Treat Package" (unlocking all additional content, including a winter cabin puzzle set) are available. Importantly, half of the proceeds from the Treat Package are donated to cat rescue organizations, currently supporting Happy Cats Haven in Manitou Springs, Colorado.
