Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is getting a much-requested feature: in-game challenge tracking. Treyarch Studios confirmed the development of this UI improvement, addressing player disappointment over its absence from launch, unlike its inclusion in 2023's Modern Warfare 3.
While a release date remains unannounced, the upcoming Season 2 update later this month hints at a potentially quick turnaround. This news follows a recent January 9th update focusing on bug fixes for Multiplayer and Zombies modes. The update included UI and audio improvements, boosted XP for the Red Light, Green Light mode, and importantly, reversed a controversial Zombies change (extended round times and spawn delays in Directed Mode) after significant player feedback.
Challenge Tracking on the Way
Treyarch's Twitter response to a fan inquiry confirmed the challenge tracking feature is "currently in the works." The functionality, popular in Modern Warfare 3, is expected to allow players to select and monitor challenge progress (like Mastery camo unlocks) live within the game's UI, eliminating the need to wait until match completion for updates.
More Improvements Coming to Black Ops 6
Beyond challenge tracking, Treyarch also confirmed another significant change: separate HUD settings for Multiplayer and Zombies. This highly requested feature, also "in the works," will allow players to customize their HUD for each game mode without needing to constantly switch settings. These upcoming improvements suggest Treyarch is actively responding to player feedback and enhancing the Black Ops 6 experience.
