Treyarch Unveils "The Tomb," a New Map for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, in 115 Day Celebration

Treyarch is celebrating 115 Day with a flurry of announcements for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, including the highly anticipated reveal of a new map: The Tomb. This annual January 15th event brings a comprehensive blog detailing upcoming zombie-themed surprises.

The centerpiece of the announcements is The Tomb, a desert-themed Zombies map launching with Season 2 on January 28th. This follows Season 1's Citadelle des Morts, adding another chapter to the Zombies universe within weeks.

Treyarch's narrative summary explains that after the events of Citadelle des Morts, Weaver, Grey, Carver, and Maya follow Gabriel Krafft's clues to an excavation site to secure the Sentinel Artifact. The catacombs, situated on ancient burial grounds dating back to 2500 B.C.E., remained undisturbed until the early 1900s, hinting at mysteries yet to be uncovered.

The Tomb's gameplay is described as reminiscent of Liberty Falls, featuring compact play areas designed for high replayability and numerous Easter eggs. Treyarch also teased a reimagined Wonder Weapon drawing inspiration from past titles and the return of a classic SMG.

Season 2 will also include significant quality-of-life improvements, addressing long-standing community requests. These enhancements include tracking up to 10 Calling Card and Camo challenges across Zombies and Multiplayer, a co-op pause option for Zombies, and the ability to rejoin Zombies matches with your loadout. Separate HUD presets for Zombies and Multiplayer are also planned.

Black Ops 6 players can currently enjoy double GobbleGum earn rates and double XP for players, weapons, and the battle pass until 10 AM PT on January 21st. Data on the story-driven Directed Mode reveals over 480 million hours played, with the average Main Quest completion rate more than doubling since its launch.

The impact of the recent SAG-AFTRA strike on the voice acting for The Tomb's characters is also noteworthy, with Activision previously acknowledging recasting of some beloved Zombies characters.

For players diving into Zombies mode, helpful resources include essential tips and tricks, an exfiltration guide, and detailed walkthroughs for Easter eggs and secrets in Terminus and Liberty Falls.
