Arc Raiders Shares New Tease for Upcoming Event 'Cold Snap' and It Looks Deadly

Arc Raiders is bracing for a "cold snap" arriving on December 16.

Developer Embark Studios has confirmed that the Cold Snap December update introduces Snowfall, a new map condition; Flickering Flames, an event; fresh quests; and a new raider deck (Arc Raiders' battle pass equivalent).

What exactly does the Snowfall map condition entail? While details are scarce, Embark shared an image showing what looks like a frozen raider in the snow, hinting that the freezing weather may be more lethal than just uncomfortable. As one fan joked: "I can’t wait to have all of my s**t stolen from people camping in basements on extraction points covered in snow."

Cold Snap marks the final update on Arc Raiders' 2025 content roadmap, with Embark yet to reveal plans for 2026. The previous November patch focused on a "very hot fix for locked room exploits," and it proved no joke after players exploited bugs to access restricted rooms earlier.

Arc Raiders moved over 4 million copies globally within two weeks of launch, securing its commercial triumph. Nexon also announced the extraction shooter hit a massive concurrent player count of 700,000 across all platforms. Its success even led to a surprise crossover with South Park, developed in just days.
