Ubisoft Mainz has unveiled exciting new details about Anno 1800: Pax Romana in a recently released trailer. While previous announcements highlighted exploration of Lazio and Albion, the trailer suggests Lazio serves as a prologue before players embark on the main game set in Albion.
Creative Director Manuel Rainer explains that Lazio starts as a peaceful region, but a catastrophic event forces players to explore uncharted territories—Britain (Albion). Albion presents significant challenges: a harsh climate, rebellious tribes, and its remote location from Rome create complex governance issues.
Players become governors, tasked with overcoming these obstacles through diplomacy as well as military might. Respecting local customs is key to fostering harmony. A unique gameplay element is the customizable ships, allowing strategic choices between increased speed via oarsmen or enhanced firepower with onboard archery turrets.
Anno 1800: Pax Romana is scheduled for release in 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X.
