The Top Choice: NetherSX2
While AetherSX2 was previously the leading PS2 emulator for Android, development has ceased, and its availability on Google Play is gone. Beware of scam websites offering downloads – these often contain malware.
The recommended approach is to join the AetherSX2 Fan Community Discord server. This community provides links to archived versions of AetherSX2 and importantly, offers access to NetherSX2. NetherSX2 is a reverse-engineered project based on AetherSX2, addressing some of its later performance issues and even exceeding it in several key areas.
