A thrilling new trailer for the upcoming TV series Alien: Earth has surfaced online, giving fans an exciting glimpse into what promises to be a gripping addition to the iconic franchise. The trailer, initially showcased at Disney's 2025 Annual Meeting of Shareholders, was shared on the @CineGeekNews X/Twitter account, and it features the harrowing plight of a spaceship's crew as they battle a Xenomorph en route to Earth.

The trailer not only unveils a fresh take on the Xenomorph but also showcases how closely Alien: Earth mirrors the aesthetic of Ridley Scott's groundbreaking 1979 film, Alien. A standout scene takes place in a MU/TH/UR control room that strikingly resembles the one aboard the Nostromo, where Ripley famously uncovered the dire circumstances faced by her crew.

In this new trailer, a frantic crew member can be seen pleading for help while trapped behind a sealed door as the Xenomorph closes in. Meanwhile, Morrow, portrayed by Babou Ceesay, appears indifferent to her distress, calmly stating that the "specimens are loose," declaring the crew dead, and setting the ship's trajectory towards Earth. The trailer also introduces six soldiers advancing towards what is presumably the crashed ship, hinting at their unfortunate fate.

The trailer raises numerous intriguing questions: Will Morrow survive? What drives him? Are there any other survivors among the crew? Could any of them be carrying a Xenomorph embryo? And what exactly leads to the soldiers' demise?

Alien: Earth is set to explore the aftermath of a mysterious spacecraft crashing on Earth, where a young woman, played by Sydney Chandler, and a group of tactical soldiers uncover a chilling secret that pits them against Earth's most formidable threat.

Play*FX's Alien series is set in 2120*, positioned chronologically after *Prometheus* and just two years before the events of the original *Alien*. This timeline placement has led fans to speculate that *Alien: Earth* might showcase the departure of the Nostromo from Earth or reveal how the nefarious Weyland-Yutani Corporation first learned of the Xenomorphs. As a point of reference, the recently released *Alien: Romulus* is set between *Alien* and *Aliens*.

In January of last year, showrunner Noah Hawley discussed his decision to steer away from the Prometheus backstory for Alien: Earth, citing his preference for the "retro-futurism" of the original films. Hawley, who consulted with Ridley Scott on numerous aspects of the Alien series, ultimately chose to distance the series from the bioweapon origin story in favor of the lore established by the earlier films.

FX's Alien: Earth is slated to premiere on Hulu in the summer of 2025. Additionally, Alien: Romulus 2 is currently in development, promising more thrilling adventures in the Alien universe.
