MS Paint is a simple raster graphics editor included with every version of Microsoft Windows. The application opens and saves files in Windows Bitmap (BMP), JPEG, GIF, PNG, and single-page TIFF formats. It supports color mode and two-color black-and-white, but lacks a grayscale mode. Due to its simplicity and inclusion with Windows, it quickly became one of the most popular applications in early Windows versions, introducing many users to digital painting for the first time.
