Battle of Sudoku: A Multiplayer Sudoku Showdown!

Love Sudoku and crave some friendly competition? Battle of Sudoku is a multiplayer version where you can challenge other players or teams. The goal remains the same: fill a 9x9 grid with digits (1-9) so each row, column, and 3x3 subgrid contains all digits.

Before starting, adjust the difficulty (1-6, 1 being easiest, 6 hardest) in the game options. This sets the initial numbers on the grid, which all players solve simultaneously. Everyone starts with the identical puzzle.

Two Game Modes:

• Show Opponent's Correct Numbers: Every correct number entered is visible to all players. Each correct number earns points, but you can't use a number already placed by another player. Speed and accuracy are key!
• Hidden Correct Numbers: Players don't see each other's correct numbers. This allows for multiple players to earn points for the same correct number.

Time-Outs: Incorrect entries result in a time-out (default 30 seconds, configurable). You're temporarily blocked from playing while others continue.

Scoring: Correct numbers earn points based on difficulty level (higher level = more points). Incorrect entries deduct half the points you'd gain for a correct answer.

Winning: The game ends when the puzzle is solved. The player with the most points wins. In "Hidden Correct Numbers" mode, the game ends when one player solves it, though this doesn't grant extra points; others can still win by making fewer mistakes.

Team Play: A team mode lets two teams compete. Join a team (1 or 2) upon entering a game. At least two players per team are required. Points are added to the team's total score, and notes/filled colors are shared within the team, enabling collaborative strategies.

Solving Tools: A toolbar under the puzzle offers:

• Pen Tool: Add notes to squares using the pen icon. Clicking a square with a selected number adds that number as a note; clicking it again removes it.
• Fill Mode: Change the background color of any square (even solved ones) using the paint bucket icon.
