868-HACK: Beloved Game Returns with Thrilling Sequel

by Henry Dec 30,2024

The cult-classic mobile game, 868-Hack, is poised for a comeback! A new crowdfunding campaign has launched for its sequel, 868-Back, promising a renewed experience of cyberpunk hacking.

Imagine the thrill of cracking digital mainframes in this roguelike dungeon crawler. Cyber warfare rarely lives up to its cool premise, but 868-Hack successfully captures the essence of hacking, much like the PC puzzler Uplink. It masterfully balances simplicity and challenge, making the complex world of code accessible yet engaging.

868-Back expands upon the original's success. It retains the core mechanic of chaining "Progs" together to create complex actions, but introduces a larger world, revamped Progs, enhanced visuals, and improved sound.

A Cyberpunk Dream

868-Hack's gritty art style and cyberpunk aesthetic are undeniably appealing. Supporting the crowdfunding campaign feels worthwhile, though inherent risks exist in any such endeavor. While setbacks are always a possibility, we wholeheartedly wish developer Michael Brough the best of luck in bringing 868-Back to fruition.
